Donate Now to Prevent Age-related Disease and Disability

Overview

When you make a donation to the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), you are supporting scientists who are working to find the causes, treatments and cures for age-related diseases and conditions.

Since 1981, the American Federation for Aging Research has provided approximately $120 million to more than 2,600 talented investigators as part of its broad-based series of grant programs. We hope that you will join the thousands of others who, during the last 28 years, have recognized AFAR's unique role in the field of biomedical research.

To learn more about the groundbreaking research that your donation will support, please visit our grantees' page. To learn more about aging research, place your cursor here.

AFAR is proud of the low administrative overhead that allows us to pass along 87 cents of every dollar we raise directly to research grants. This "lean" structure makes us attractive to foundations, corporations and individuals who have placed their trust in AFAR to manage their funds in a responsible manner.

Below are several ways that you can donate to AFAR:

Providing a gift for general operating supports AFAR’s medical research programs.

Give a recurring monthly donation to support AFAR’s medical research programs.

Give a gift to AFAR in memory of a loved one, or honor someone with a donation made in their name for a special occasion such as a birthday.

AFAR’s Terrapin Society offers donors a number of gifting opportunities that ensure both the long-term health of AFAR and the fulfillment of personal financial objectives for donors. For more information, see the Terrapin brochure.
